Every TikTok gift has a coin price. Here is how that coin price turns into real money for the creator.
From coins to cash in three steps
- Viewers buy coins. On TikTok's website coins cost about $1.06 per 100 (roughly £0.80). In the iOS and Android apps they cost about 30% more because of app store fees.
- Gifts turn into diamonds. When a gift is sent, the creator gets diamonds for their share of its value. TikTok does not publish the percentage it keeps; creators commonly report receiving around 50%.
- Diamonds are withdrawn as money. Creators cash out diamonds through TikTok's rewards page. Agencies may take an extra percentage.
The four payout modes
Because the real percentage is not public, our calculators let you choose how cautious to be:
- Conservative: creator receives 40% of the gift's value.
- Standard (default): creator receives 50%.
- Optimistic: creator receives 60%.
- Custom: pick any percentage from 30% to 70%.
