How TikTok gift money works
1. Viewers buy coins
On TikTok's website coins cost about $1.06 per 100 (roughly $0.0106 each). Buying in the app costs about 30% more because of app store fees.
2. Gifts become diamonds
When a viewer sends a gift, the creator receives diamonds. TikTok keeps a share it does not publish. Creators commonly report receiving around half of the gift's value.
3. Diamonds become cash
